Research Affiliations
- Center for High Technology Materials - One of New Mexico's Centers of Technical Excellence, CHTM is renowned for its work in semiconductor and thin-film materials; high resolution fabrication; optoelectronic device design and fabrication; laser spectroscopy and laser processing of materials; semiconductor manufacturing metrology; and thin-film technologies.
- Center for Micro-Engineered Materials - Hosts the National Science Foundation's Ceramic and Composite Materials Center. Research objectives are to understand and use molecular and near-molecular processes to synthesize improved ceramic materials with controlled composite structures at nano- to micro-length scales.
- High Performance Computing Education and Research Center - Provides supercomputing for government agencies, UNM, other academic institutions and industry.
- Nano Network of NM - Promotes collaboration between corporate nanotechnology developers and New Mexico start-up companies, fosters relationships between worldwide nanotech developers and New Mexico nanotech groups, and increases sponsored research and licenses of New Mexico based companies.
- Technology Research Collaborative - Coordinates economic cluster development and networking activities around the state to help streamline the commercialization of technology.
Trade Associations
- Alliance for Photonic Technology - Includes UNM's Center for High Technology Materials, the Phillips Research Site, Los Alamos National Laboratory and Sandia National Labs. Enhances U.S. competitiveness in lasers, optoelectronics and fiberoptics by smoothing the path for private firms to work with R&D participants.
- MANCEF (Micro and Nanotechnology Commercialization Education Foundation)- Globally supports the creation, exchange, and dissemination of knowledge vital to people, organizations, and governments interested in the commercialization of miniaturization technologies.
- New Mexico Optics Industry Association - NMOIA is dedicated to bringing together optics-related businesses, institutions, and professionals to foster the growth of this very important industry in New Mexico.
- Technology Industries Association (TIA) - Umbrella organization for New Mexico's private sector high-tech enterprises. Members range from small, highly advanced laser research companies to multinational computer chip corporations.
